Job Summary
Service Engineer- Marine at ZF India. Responsible for overhauling ZF Thrusters and gearboxes at customer sites (yards/workshops), performing inspections and troubleshooting, installing, pre-commissioning and commissioning at customer locations, and providing training and ongoing support. Lead small teams under the Service Manager and contribute to maintenance sales while ensuring customer satisfaction and 24/7 support availability. Requires a Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 4-5 years field service/commissioning experience, familiarity with azimuth/tunnel thrusters, propulsion controls, electrical and hydraulic systems, and knowledge of ISO/OHSAS practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 4-5 years of field service and commissioning experience
- In total experience at least 3 years’ experience in Maintenance / Overhauling of Azimuth Thrusters/ Tunnel Thrusters would be preferred
- Basic Understanding of Ship’s Propulsion controls and its functioning
- Basic Troubleshooting skills in Electrical Systems would be an added advantage
- Basic Understanding and troubleshooting skills on Hydraulic system and its components
- Basic knowledge of ISO (Quality) & OHSAS (Health & Safety) practices in marine industry
