Service Engineer II

Job Summary
Conduct technical service and support for customers onsite and remotely, utilizing knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, system operations, programming, and equipment diagnostics. Install, calibrate, tune, rebuild, and maintain customer equipment in the field for Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation solutions while supporting in-house diagnostic systems. Present value-added services such as CloudCNC, extended warranties, and machine tuning to help achieve uptime goals, and promote spare parts sales. Enter all technical claims, service activities, and customer inquiries into the database to maintain data integrity. Cooperate with Senior Engineers for instruction and support. Perform 60-80% travel within the greater Houston, Texas area.
Required Qualifications
- 60-80% travel, mostly within region
- BSEET or equivalent related experience
- 0-3 years experience in field service for industrial automation
- Knowledgeable on electrical and mechanical tools for machine repair
- Mechanical aptitude
- Hands-on knowledge of volt meters, oscilloscopes, and other test / measuring equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation: schematics, logic, procedures, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with customers and colleagues
- Organization skills for arranging travel plans and service call schedule
- Flexibility to travel with limited notice to meet customer's expectations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Computerized Numeric Controls (CNC's) products
- Experience with robots and how they operate
- Experience in motion controllers and programmable logic controllers (PLC's)
- Experience in field service
