Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and light industrial environments by performing service calls, installing wiring, and replacing panels and breakers. Read schematics and blueprints to ensure all work complies with NEC codes, local regulations, and OSHA safety standards. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, communicate clearly with customers regarding timelines and costs, and complete service reports to maintain accurate records. Maintain service vehicle inventory and tools while responding to emergency calls as needed, including after-hours rotations. Coordinate with dispatch and project managers to ensure efficient service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial or light industrial electrical service, maintenance, or repair
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting techniques, NEC code requirements, and safety standards
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license (if required by state/local regulations)
- Experience working in occupied commercial or industrial facilities
