Job Summary
Service Department Head leads the commercial/industrial roofing service department across a Baker Roofing branch, overseeing safety, quality control, profitability, and customer satisfaction for service work. Responsibilities include motivating and directing office and field staff (hiring, training, promoting growth), coordinating sales support, overseeing setup, processing, and invoicing of work orders, reviewing aging reports, and driving continuous improvement in quality and service levels. Requires deep roofing knowledge, ability to manage cross-functional teams, and effective communication to ensure safety, productivity, and successful customer outcomes. The role emphasizes leadership, operations management, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering value and balancing work-life considerations.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or college preferred
- 5 years minimum experience in roofing
- 30 Hour OSHA Construction card
- First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne pathogen training preferred
- Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of BUR, shingles, tile, single-ply, metal, waterproofing techniques
- Strong organizational and writing skills
- Experience with scheduling and Microsoft Office
