Job Summary
Service Department Associate responsibilities include assisting customers with items requiring assembly or completion, assisting in stocking and maintaining clean, orderly store presentation, performing service tasks such as duplicating keys, repairing and building window screens, writing work orders, rekeying locks, cutting glass, sharpening items, programming keys, and handling other household item repairs. Customer service duties involve providing a positive representation, proactively assisting customers, greeting customers, applying product knowledge and store layout familiarity, and escalating complaints to management. Store operations require helping maintain a positive, professional, safe work environment, stocking merchandise, maintaining back stock, ensuring daily cleanliness of sales floor and stock areas, assisting with price changes, merchandise resets, and participating in store meetings. The role emphasizes professional appearance, teamwork, and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A friendly, helpful attitude, ability to work with people
- willingness to learn product features and applications to better help customers solve their home repair problems
- standing/walking ability, physical capability to perform tasks
- experience in retail or hardware knowledge preferred but not necessary
- basic mathematical concepts for service billing tickets
