Job Summary
The Service Continuity & Patient Branch Support Specialist manages renewal of durable medical equipment rentals and handles RUL, BEM, and re-qualification orders with accurate documentation and insurance-compliance, while delivering in-branch patient support. Responsibilities include verifying demographics and insurance, performing insurance verification and compliance checks, processing RUL/BEM orders, managing on-hold sales orders, and coordinating with prescribers to gather required documentation. In-branch duties include greeting walk-in patients, answering questions about equipment, insurance coverage, and payment options, educating patients on equipment use (e.g., walkers, nebulizers), collecting prescriptions and payment, ensuring Medicare/Medicaid/commercial documentation compliance, coordinating with physicians’ offices, preparing equipment for pickup, and communicating delays or issues to patients. Participation in training and special projects, plus ongoing updates on DME products, insurance guidelines, and compliance standards, completes the role.
Required Qualifications
- Strong Medicare, Medicaid & Commercial Payer HME experience
- Experience in HME/DME referral intake and/or billing helpful
- Progressively responsible reimbursement experience in HME
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- TEAM Player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Extensive computer use requires strong typing ability. Must type at least 40 WPM
- Brightree experience a plus
