Service Clubs and Volunteer Support Officer

Job Summary

Conduct prospect research to identify donors and partnerships, then create fundraising campaigns and strategies to support service clubs and community organizations. Manage relationships with regional and national committees while overseeing grant applications, presentations, and stewardship events to meet an annual revenue target of $700k. Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteers, interns, and Canada Summer Jobs participants as the primary point of contact. Lead the development of a volunteer engagement strategy that integrates across teams and leverages recognition initiatives like National Volunteer Week.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of fundraising experience
  • 2–3 years of event and volunteer management experience
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in creating campaign letters, grant writing, and presentations
  • Experience working with CRM systems and demonstrated ability to utilize these systems to appropriately document volunteer activities and maintain ongoing communication
  • High degree of familiarity with Imagine Canada's Standards for Charities and Not-for Profits, the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement and other industry standard documentation
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and achieve success through teamwork
  • Strong proficiency in CRM databases, Power BI and other fundraising platforms
  • Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Diabetes Canada's mission, vision, and core values
  • Occasional evening and weekend work
  • The Officer is expected to travel to attend events
  • Candidate must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Where applicable, you must hold a valid work permit or study permit that allows you to fulfill the requirements of the role

Desired Qualifications

  • Volunteer Management program certificate is an asset
  • Experience in working with Service Clubs/Charitable groups or committees an asset
  • Continued active membership in a National, Provincial or Local Association of Volunteer Administrators is an asset
