Job Summary
Service Center Clerk II handles high-volume telephone inquiries, maintains OS&D freight paperwork, and coordinates deliveries. Responsibilities include tracking and reconciling bill of lading data, repackaging OS&D freight, reporting discrepancies and OS&D issues, maintaining organized records, responding to customer inquiries about bills of lading and proof of delivery, tracing shipments, addressing billing or service complaints, investigating overages/shortages/damages (including hazmat), processing claims and tariffs, scanning bills, transferring data to billing formats, preparing freight movement bills, and supporting dispatch. Requires strong clerical and customer-service skills, proficiency with MS Word and Excel, AS400 preferred, ability to lift ~20 lbs, and compliance with pre-employment drug screening and background checks. Must be able to work in a high-volume environment, either independently or in a team, and maintain regular attendance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent
- Experience in billing, collections, tracing & OS&D preferred
- Computer skills; MS Word and Excel
- AS400 experience strongly preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Good clerical skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to lift ~20 lbs
- Compliance with drug screen and background checks
- Authorized to work in the United States
