Job Summary
Perform service, maintenance, and verification on CMM and Equator-X machines across UK customer sites, conducting ISO 10360-2/5 calibrations using calibrated artefacts and laser interferometers. Diagnose verification failures, apply calibration certificates, and support installation teams with post-retrofit checks. Communicate compliance status and environmental best practices to customers while feeding recurring issues back to engineering and R&D teams for continuous improvement. Requires HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Metrology, UK driving licence, and willingness for frequent travel including overnight stays. Full-time permanent role based in Castle Donington with salary of £32,000 plus fully expensed car and 10% allowance.
Required Qualifications
- HNC Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Mechatronics or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer facing, field based role
- Excellent customer‐facing communication and professionalism
- Methodical, detail‐driven mindset with analytical skills
- Capable of working independently on customer sites with minimal supervision
- Strong ownership and reliability in delivering high‐quality calibration outcomes
- UK driving licence
- Willingness and availability for frequent travel with overnight stays during the week, including occasional overseas assignments
- Ability to work in controlled environments and follow strict calibration procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience in calibration, metrology, CMM verification, or precision engineering
- Background in high‐precision industries (aerospace, automotive, medical, advanced manufacturing)
- Understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and traceability
- Experience with Renishaw CMM technologies including Equator‐X, REVO‐2, UCCServer, and calibration databases (e.g., QC Gages)
- Ability to interpret calibration certificates, metrology reports, and technical drawings
