Job Summary
Experienced Service Advisor at McKenna Cerritos for VW/Volvo brands; responsible for diagnosing automotive problems by listening to customer descriptions, clarifying issues, conducting inspections and test drives, verifying warranty coverage, developing estimates including materials, labor and deductibles, preparing repair orders with described symptoms and required repairs, obtaining approvals, and updating service records. Builds customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected vehicle return, arranging towing/temporary transportation, and answering questions. Maintains automotive records, stays current with manufacturer publications, and seeks opportunities to add value. Requires strong communication, organization, and familiarity with ADP or similar Dealer Management Systems and standard office software; minimum 2 years of service-advisor experience; High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; ability to pass background check and drug screen; willingness to comply with safety and job requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years Service Advisor experience required
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Clean driving record needed
- Applicants must have the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Applicants must be detail-oriented and well organized
- Experience with ADP or similar Dealer Management Systems preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Office applications preferred
- Education Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
