Job Summary
Initiate automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems, verifying warranty coverage, performing walk-around inspections, developing estimates, and writing repair orders. Greet customers in a timely manner, schedule appointments, and maintain the Customer Satisfaction Index rating. Keep all open repair orders updated and closed within 30 days, ensure documentation is provided for warranty purposes, and accomplish the forecast established by management. Make every effort to ensure technicians complete all repairs on the first visit and maintain follow-up on additional items. Works in the service area next to the express bay and parts department, requiring stooping, bending, and moving throughout the department while exposed to noise, vibration, dust, and exhaust fumes. Road-testing of vehicles may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Experience with industry-specific software
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong organizational, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with technicians, customers, and management
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations
- Dealertrack DMS knowledge
- Two years of experience in a dealership position
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Must be able to stoop, bend and move throughout the service department
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Auto dealership or customer service experience
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations would be great
- Dealertrack DMS knowledge helpful
- Experience with industry-specific software is always nice
