Job Summary
Schedule service appointments, gather customer and vehicle data, and document reported concerns on repair orders. Perform comprehensive walk-arounds to visually confirm issues, review service history for proactive recommendations, and provide detailed written estimates for labor and parts. Obtain customer approval on repair orders, secure signatures, and confirm payment methods. Monitor repair status, communicate cost or time changes, and close orders upon payment while maintaining quality control checks. Respond promptly to inquiries via phone and email regarding appointments or work in progress. Maintain a professional appearance and ensure the work area remains clean and organized.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years experience as an automotive service writer
- Organized and superior customer service skills
- Time management skills
- Fantastic communication skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand throughout the workday
- Ability to walk outside and get in and out of vehicles
- Ability to handle moderate stress levels from customer-facing interactions
- Ability to clearly communicate service recommendations, cost estimates, and vehicle issues to customers
- Ability to read and interpret various technical documents, including safety guidelines, maintenance procedures, and repair manuals
- Capability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Desired Qualifications
- Subaru experience preferred
- Reynolds and Reynolds experience preferred
