Job Summary
Ensure all meals are served and presented according to Director of Food Service guidelines while patiently taking resident orders and checking station tables for cleanliness. Read menus beforehand to assist residents with selections, assist with plating appetizers, salads, soups, beverages, and desserts, and buss tables at the end of service. This role requires experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment, strong multitasking and communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and respectful with a senior population. Shifts are Friday and Saturday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry
- Able to function in a fast-paced environment
- Have a strong ability to multi-task
- Possesses good communication, customer service and people skills
- Is professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in actions and demeanor
- Maintains an abiding respect for the elderly and remains calm at all times
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with a senior population is preferred, but not required
- Is a team player, willing to help out where needed to ensure a pleasurable dining experience
- Familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines is a plus
- Is able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
