Job Summary
Deliver excellent customer service and accurately record all food and beverage items into the MICROS/POS System. Maintain knowledge of menus, brand selections, prices, and garnishes while maximizing sales through suggestive selling techniques. Complete assigned duties within each shift, including daily close out procedures, and collect accurate payment from guests. Check guest identification for minimum age requirements and make reasonable efforts to promote responsible drinking. Maintain cleanliness of service areas and ensure work zones are orderly and properly stocked. Handle guest service issues immediately and professionally while developing positive communication with co-workers and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- California Food Handler Card
- 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Must be detail oriented
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Must have the ability to multitask
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holiday and nights
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to efficiently use MICROS/POS System
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (eight hours or longer)
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Must be able to regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions, including working directly in the sun and beside a pool
- Must be able to work in a loud noise level environment
