Job Summary
Server greets, seats, and services guests in a friendly and courteous manner, takes and delivers orders, suggests upsell opportunities, receives payments, and assists other service staff to provide total guest satisfaction. Responds to guest concerns promptly and adheres to Denny’s Guiding Principles. Responsible for proper entry of orders on the POS, basic beverage and select food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area, assisting with seating and turnover, and delivering prompt, courteous service throughout the guest dining experience. Must demonstrate knowledge of the menu, support to-go orders, and safe cash handling procedures while working as part of a team and upholding brand standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 21 in restaurants that free pour alcoholic beverages
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Meets uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Possesses excellent guest service skills
- Possesses basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Places a value on diversity and shows respect for others
