Job Summary
Greet guests, inform them of specials, and make quality recommendations while maintaining extensive knowledge of the menu to accommodate dietary requests. Take orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar in a timely manner. Perform side duties such as polishing cutlery and glassware, maintain cleanliness of all service areas, and quality check tables to ensure guest satisfaction. Process payments, prepare final bills, and complete cash outs at the end of the shift. Assist fellow servers and serving assistants as needed, involving a manager immediately if conflicts arise. This beach-inspired Southern California venue serves shareable snacks, tacos, burgers, and local beers.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience serving or bartending
- Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Possesses basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system
- Valid Alberta ProServe certification obtained within 30 days of starting
- Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
- Capacity to safely lift and easily maneuver potentially heavy trays of food and drinks
- Must be over 18
