Job Summary
Prepare and consistently maintain the dining area and supplies in a guest-ready atmosphere. Process guest charges and gratuities while ensuring the highest quality product and service. Complete daily side work including stocking, ordering, and cost control. Maintain safety and security practices with thorough knowledge of emergency procedures. Solve guest issues professionally while promoting sales and working as a team member in cleaning and food preparation. Maintain certification from a brand-approved responsible vendor training program. Perform duties as assigned, including verifying age requirements for alcohol and communicating with guests.
Required Qualifications
- Character traits of honesty and trustworthiness
- Must be able to pass appropriate security clearances
- Must be able to perform major life activities: Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach
- Must be able to see and hear
- Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests
- Knowledge of Age requirements and verify those who order any alcoholic beverages
- Knowledge of Menu items, preparation methods and beverage choices
- Knowledge of Standards of operation as required by brand
- Knowledge of Area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries
- Knowledge of Daily hotel operations check daily events, bulletin boards and are up to date on changes, new procedures and events
- Knowledge of Entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, discounts
- Service minded, friendly professional behavior
- Computer literate to thoroughly operate property management system: post charges, compute bills, collect payment and make change
- Ability to Sell, suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards
- Ability to Multi task, remain associate and guest service centric
- Ability to Effectively communicate with guests and associates
- Ability to Solve guest issues with professionalism and maintain a hospitable attitude
- Ability to Market and promote to increase exposure and sales
- Ability to Work as a team member in aspects such as: cleaning, side work, food preparation and storage
- Maintain certification from a brand approved responsible vendor training program
- Physical presence at the hotel
- Ability to stand, walk for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image
- Ability to work any day/shift, including weekends
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in food and beverage position
- Experience with chain food and retail outlet
