Job Summary
Sells and serves food and beverages in an efficient, professional manner according to restaurant standards. Completes opening and closing side work to prepare dining room, bar, and kitchen stations. Greets guests, presents menus, and applies knowledge of the full menu including portions, ingredients, and allergies. Uses suggestive selling techniques for specials and promotions. Checks dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness while maintaining service areas throughout the shift. Cross-serves team members as needed, carries trays, and processes payments and transactions. Re-stocks items and alerts staff of shortages. Follows health department regulations and communicates safety concerns immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
