Job Summary
Greet guests, inform them of specials, and make quality food and beverage recommendations while accommodating all dietary requests and allergies. Take orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar in a timely manner. Perform side duties including polishing cutlery and glassware, maintain cleanliness of all service areas, and quality check tables to ensure guest satisfaction. Prepare final bills, process payments, and complete cash out at the end of the shift. Assist fellow servers and serving assistants as needed, and involve a manager immediately if conflicts arise. Complete cash out at the end of the shift. Execute any other tasks required.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience serving, or bartending in a full-service restaurant
- Valid Ontario Smart Serve certification
- Must be over 18
- Open scheduling availability
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Strong English communication skills
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system
- Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
