Job Summary
Prepare food for serving to residents and ensure satisfaction with meal service. Take orders, set and strip tables, and serve food and beverages in accordance with established policies and procedures. Unpack and store supplies while maintaining work and storage areas in a clean, safe sanitary manner. Wash, clean, and sort dishes, cutlery, fixtures, and equipment used for food preparation and service. Operate and clean food equipment and maintain the dining area. This role supports Fraser Terrace Retirement Residence residents and guests during the 9:30am to 5:30pm shift, 30 hours bi-weekly. The team demonstrates empathy and understanding of senior needs within a safe, inclusive workplace.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written/verbal instructions
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Current Safe Food Handler's Certification
- Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- VSS and TB Test where required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a kitchen
- Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds
