Job Summary
Greet guests, seat them, take and serve orders, clear dishes, and reset tables while adhering to IHOP SOPs. Maintain professional relationships with staff and guests, handle complaints promptly, and communicate food orders accurately. Memorize menu knowledge, terminology, and plating standards. Stock supplies, comply with health and safety guidelines, and clean tables, chairs, booths, and floors per posted charts. Manage cash control during guest checks and follow uniform standards. Perform other assignments as directed by management.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write guest checks and simple correspondence
- Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand guest checks, read instructions, and communicate with guests
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- IHOP training coursework as assigned
