Job Summary
Serve nutritious meals to residents while accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and nutritional care plans. Greet guests, take orders, and provide tableside service ensuring correct temperatures and honoring specific requests. Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness by carrying out general cleaning, disinfection, light dishwashing, and setting tables. Assist residents with eating as needed and ensure all appliances remain clean and functional. Work independently under strict time constraints during the 6 am to 1:30 pm shift, operating four on four off rotation. Hold a Food Safe Level 1 Certificate and minimum one year of serving experience.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 education or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year serving experience, preferably in a residential care setting environment
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
- Respects and maintains the spirit, dignity and individuality of the residents and employees
- Empathetic and understanding of the residents who may be living with complex medical issues
- High standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, under strict time constraints
- Fluent in written and oral English
- Safe and efficient operation of all departmental equipment and machinery
