Job Summary
Guide guests through the full food, beverage, and wine menus with genuine knowledge, reading tables to the rhythm of the kitchen and pacing the meal from greeting to check. Deliver accurate orders via Toast, manage timing with the bar, and anticipate needs like refills or recommendations before being asked. Handle guest questions and recovery with composure while maintaining station cleanliness, side work, and open/close procedures. Uphold responsible alcohol service and partner with runners and bartenders to keep every table seamless. Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant is preferred, along with Illinois Food Handler and BASSET certifications. Hourly wage $12.96 plus gratuity, health benefits, and PTO accrue after 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Illinois Food Handler and BASSET certifications required, or obtained before start date
- Reliable, punctual, and team-first
- A real interest in hospitality as a craft, not a stopgap
Desired Qualifications
- Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred — Chicago dining a plus
- Genuine command of food and wine, or the hunger to learn it quickly
- Warm, composed, and socially intelligent under a full section
- Strong memory and attention to detail — you don't write down what you should remember
- Comfort with Toast or a comparable POS preferred
