Job Summary
Represent ROOH Chicago by selling and serving an upscale dining experience featuring an ala carte menu and an 8 course tasting menu. Collaborate with front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure product quality, master food and beverage knowledge including wine, spirits, and beer pairings, and confidently explain dish inspiration and history to guests. Utilize the Toast POS system to process orders and bills while maintaining station cleanliness and smooth operations before, during, and after shifts. Interact with guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner, multi-task under pressure, and report issues to management immediately. Work a variety of hours, days, and shifts including weekends and brunches, standing and walking steadily for up to eight hours. Maintain State of Illinois Basset Certification and legal ability to serve alcohol in Chicago. Join a dynamic, innovative, and heartfelt team of unique individuals.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a high-volume, full-service, elevated dining restaurant setting
- Possess extensive food and beverage knowledge
- Knowledge of Wine Service, Spirits and beer and the ability to make pairing recommendations to guests
- Willingness to learn about a new culture and ingredients and the ability to confidently explain our dishes to guests
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- A team player that is always willing to help their colleagues and brings up issues to management right away to ensure everyone leaves with a positive experience
- Able to use Toast POS system to process orders and bill
- Able to interact with guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner
- Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the station, the tables and restaurant before, during and at the conclusion of the shift worked
- Must have the ability to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends and brunches/lunches
- Must have the ability to stand and walk at a steady pace for periods of up to 8 hours or more
- Must have State of Illinois Basset Certification/Food Handlers Certification
- Must be at least 21 years of age and legally able to serve alcohol in the city of Chicago
