Job Summary
The Server Assistant supports the service team by assisting with seating, water and tea service, bread/amuse delivery, and initial guest needs; maintains table organization and utensils, and helps run food and beverages with accurate course timing. Coordinates with Servers, Hosts, Runners, Bussers, and Management to ensure seamless fine-dining service, assists with pre-service setup and side work, and maintains pacing and presentation while upholding sanitation and safety standards. Growth path includes opportunities to advance into Food Runner and Server roles; strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking abilities are essential. The role is in a tipped, full-time/part-time front-of-house environment at SUZU in Cincinnati, OH, with training in Japanese hospitality and professional guest etiquette.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of restaurant or hospitality experience (fine dining preferred but not required)
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Professional presentation and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn Japanese service styles and fine-dining standards
