Job Summary
Prepare and serve meals for residents, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience daily. Assist with food preparation and presentation under the Chef's direction while maintaining strict health department sanitation standards. Utilize the Ready, Set, Serve Program to set, serve, and clean tables, and track a la carte and wine sales. Comply with provincial regulations, ORCA standards, and emergency drills to ensure tour readiness. Work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, promoting hospitality-style service to residents. Requires Serve It Right and Food Safe certificates, one year dining experience, and ability to work with seniors.
Required Qualifications
- Serve It Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
- 1 year experience in dining room service
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- Successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
