Job Summary
Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel, and evaluate employees while ensuring the care, custody, and adherence to rules for inmates, detainees, and USMS assigned to specific housing and working areas. Direct searches for contraband, provide security, and observe personnel during activities and assigned work duties. Read, review, and update inmate records related to health, safety, and facility security, then provide appropriate information to other personnel. Supervise the preparation and maintenance of records, forms, and reports while promoting positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when issues arise. Maintain accountability of staff, inmates, and property, adhering to safety practices and responding rapidly to security or medical codes. Perform other duties as assigned by the Warden.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication
