Job Summary
Define the LeapSpace search and AI-visibility strategy, shaping and pressure-testing the roadmap with a specialist external agency. Leverage Elsevier's existing domain authority and assets to accelerate organic visibility across search, answer engines, and generative AI. Act as the internal owner and day-to-day contact for the agency, establishing technical content structure, structured data, and content taxonomy to ensure clean extraction and citation. Turn strategy into a coordinated programme of work by removing blockers and mobilizing internal teams to execute. Stay ahead of discovery shifts to translate emerging trends into concrete plans. This role drives measurable growth for Elsevier's AI-powered research platform, LeapSpace, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration within a matrixed organization.
Required Qualifications
- Track record building organic search visibility, ideally including launching or scaling visibility for a new product or domain
- Strong command of technical and content SEO (site architecture, structured data, crawlability, content optimisation, link strategy)
- Demonstrable understanding of AEO and GEO
- Experience managing external agencies or partners
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management; able to align and mobilise multiple teams toward a shared goal
- Strong analytical skills and fluency with search/analytics tooling
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical work for non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort working within a large, matrixed organisation across multiple market segments (e.g. consumer, institutional, government)
