Job Summary

Manage planning, risk, project performance, and technical quality for a department within the Test Engineering organization supporting the Sentinel program. Set operating objectives, mentor Functional Home Room Section Managers, and oversee multiple programs including GBSD, ICBM Sustainment, and Advanced Programs. Drive execution across a multidisciplinary team to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics while recruiting, staffing, and retaining talent. Lead the Flight Vehicle Test Department by developing a clear vision, implementing succession plans, and fostering a culture of accountability. Perform proactive risk management, resolve operational problems, and advocate across stakeholder communities to ensure program success. Maintain a 9/80 work schedule, travel 25% of the time, and hold a Secret clearance with SAP approval.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience
  • Master's degree and 6 years of related experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting the development, integration, verification, and/or execution of complex aerospace, defense, or government programs
  • Working knowledge of test engineering, integration and test, and/or flight test principles throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, career development, succession planning, and performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational change while maintaining employee engagement, accountability, and execution
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous process improvement and engineering excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to leadership and cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Experience on ICBMs

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with 9 years of experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) preferably an Engineering degree
  • Experience on ICBMs
  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position
  • Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration and execution
  • Ability to rapidly assess and lend guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers
  • Ability to bridge between theoretical concepts and practical implementation, performing associated trade analyses
  • Ability to communicate technical analysis to a variety of stakeholders with different backgrounds and expertise
  • Working knowledge and/ or experience across engineering disciplines
  • Experience on ICBMs
  • Experience creating or growing new sections or departments
  • Experience managing test teams or organizations
  • Familiarity with Agile engineering and JIRA
