Job Summary
Senior Principal Engineer (Technical Services) for the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. Lead and collaborate within a team to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training systems for multiple Air Force specialties, applying ADDIE, adult learning theories, and instructional strategies to drive measurable performance improvements. Design and develop training materials across modalities (online, in-person, hybrid), create SCORM-compliant courseware, and implement evaluation frameworks (Kirkpatrick 4 levels, Phillips 5 levels). Utilize tools such as Camtasia, Storyline, Adobe Captivate/Creative Suite for multimedia design (audio/video, 2D/3D design, animation, simulations). Maintain currency with current learning theories and industry standards, and potentially oversee contractors or vendors. Requires Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field and 8+ years (or equivalents) of related experience; U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; willingness to travel ~10%; relocation package may be offered. Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret Level clearance
- Bachelor of Science in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Human Performance, Training and Learning Development, Psychology, Marketing, or related field
- 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6+ years with a Master's degree; 4+ years with a PhD
- Experience designing and developing learning materials for technical disciplines
- Experience developing technology-based learning products
- Experience creating formative and summative evaluations for technical disciplines
- Experience conducting training evaluations in accordance with Kirkpatrick 4 levels of evaluation and Phillips 5 levels of evaluation
- Experience working in ADDIE and other training development models for technical disciplines
- Experience applying adult learning theories and process-driven instructional design principles
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
- Experience executing and delivering training system products on large DoD military program
- Experience leading a team of junior training system employees
- Active DoD Secret clearance (Nice to Have)
- Knowledge of human performance processes to breakdown knowledge and skill gaps to identify appropriate learning solutions
