Job Summary
Lead a growing team of structural analysis engineers, managing tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with individual contributors in Roy, UT. Spend 80% of time directing structural analysis work for metals, composites, and mechanical systems, including damage tolerance, durability, and thermal analysis. Dedicate 20% of time to recruiting, staffing, and conducting weekly team meetings and performance reviews. Utilize CATIA, IDEAS, and ProEngineer to develop engineering specifications and support the Sentinel program. Operate under a 9/80 schedule with a Secret clearance and SAP eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience
- Master's degree with 6 years of experience
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
- Demonstrated excellence in the field of structural analysis
- Experience in a technical leadership/management role
- Experience in writing and presenting technical content
- In depth familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Professional Engineer's License
- Master's degree in Business
- In depth familiarity with the majority of the following: Ansys, Abaqus, FEMAP, Nastran, LS-DYNA, MathCad, Matlab
- Strong experience leading teams and training others
- Experience with individual contributor performance assessments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to operate independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans
- Exposure to structural test applications
- Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7)
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- TeamCenter CPLM experience
- Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success
- Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA
