Job Summary
Staff DevOps Engineer responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining infrastructure and cloud resources across SDLC, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating software testing and deployment, monitoring pipelines and infrastructure, applying patches, troubleshooting, and mentoring staff on DevOps concepts. Role involves automation via infrastructure-as-code, remediation of vulnerabilities, collaboration with peers and business partners to improve workflows, providing application support and on-call coverage, and potential Product Owner responsibilities. Requires strong Linux/Red Hat, scripting (Python, Bash, YAML, PERL), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven/Ant), and experience with IaaC; security clearances (Secret with potential TS/SAP) and the ability to obtain necessary approvals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of relevant experience; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Must be a US Citizen with active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within 6 months of hire
- 4 years experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant, GNU make) and/or continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo) and/or repositories (i.e. Nexus, JFROG)
- 2 years experience with Jira/Confluence in an Agile environment
- Proficiency with Linux based software development tools
- 4 years experience of Microsoft and Linux Red Hat operating system
- 4 years experience with scripting languages (i.e. PERL, Python, Bash, YAML)
- 4 years of DevOps experience with container technologies in support of building and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- 4 years experience with container orchestration technologies (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)
- IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 1 month
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field of study (Nice to Have)
- Experience as a Product Owner or other technical leadership position in an Agile environment (Nice to Have)
- Active DoD Secret clearance with reinvestigation in last 6 years (Nice to Have)
- Experience with automation/configuration management (Ansible, Chef) or equivalent (Nice to Have)
- Experience with source code configuration management tools (git) or HashiCorp Packer/Vault (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM (Nice to Have)
- SAFe Product Owner (Nice to Have)
- SAFe/Scaled Agile familiarity (Nice to Have)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness to support after-hours, on-call, and 24/7 coverage as required
