Job Summary

Sentinel program role: Lead full system and incremental feature architecture and definition as a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to support development and I&T teams. Perform technical planning, system integration, verification/validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability assessments across concept to disposal. Translate customer requirements into hardware/software specifications, conduct functional and timeline analyses, balance technical/schedule/cost constraints, and conduct trade studies. Present technical solutions to senior leadership and serve as a primary spokesperson for major initiatives while interfacing with external customers to translate needs into system-feature concepts. Requires active DoD clearance, DoD program experience, MBSE proficiency (Cameo, DOORS/DOORS-Next), and ability to travel ~10%. Relocation assistance may be available; standard schedule is 9/80; location options include Roy, UT; Colorado Springs, CO; Huntsville, AL.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Engineering, Science, or related field) with 14 years’ experience; 12 years with a Master’s degree; or 10 years with a PhD.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background investigation or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation; ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
  • 5 years of Systems Engineering experience defining requirements, behavior models, interfaces, and verification plans that support development and integration teams.
  • 5 years of experience leading cross-functional (software, systems, test) teams and communicating with a large organization.
  • 4 years of experience leading projects through concept baselines, design reviews, and Review Board assessments.
  • 4 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (Cameo, DOORS/DOORS-Next).
  • Preferred: experience planning/managing large-scale system-of-systems programs using agile, incremental-feature-based methodology (including feature baselines, Earned Value Management, Jira workflow).
  • Hands-on MBSE tool experience to trace feature elements for incremental releases.
  • Prior work on defense-related programs employing feature-concept development processes.
  • Experience creating/maintaining Strategic Feature Plans and Certification modules.
  • Familiarity with SSCMAN 91-710 and Range Safety Compliance requirements; AFMAN 91-119 standards.
  • Active Sentinel SAP clearance.
