Job Summary
Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose technical requirements, develop verifiable specifications, and conduct trade studies for Environmental Control System hardware. Generate and update specifications within a Systems Engineering framework to support supplier releases and procurement. Develop design and analysis artifacts for reviews and customer deliverables, while performing heating and cooling calculations to size HVAC equipment. Review and provide comments on supplier-submitted drawings and contractual deliveries. This 9/80 schedule position supports the Sentinel Program's Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase in Roy, UT.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- Minimum of 5 years (level 3) or 8 years (level 4) of relevant experience
- U.S. Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools - PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
- Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time
- This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80
- The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) system design and verification
- Experience with producing construction drawing packages
- Experience with Revit
- Experience with Carrier HAP, NX, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with estimation, bidding, proposals, or RFPs
- Experience managing a subcontractor
