Job Summary
Support production activities for the Command Systems Team by creating Shop Operation Plans, Recovery Schedules, and detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks. Conduct shop floor time studies, develop labor standards, and design optimized facility layouts while performing Manufacturing Readiness Assessments with suppliers. Collaborate with functional teams to interpret scheduling requirements, coordinate across multiple site locations, and present technical briefings to leadership. Maintain daily shop floor performance tracking and problem resolution. Requires a Secret clearance, ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP, and 5–8 years of industrial engineering experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- U.S. Citizenship
- 5 Years with BS; 3 Years with Masters (for Principal level)
- 8 Years with BS; 6 Years with Masters (for Sr. Principal level)
- Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing operations, production planning, or proposal estimating in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing
- Experience developing bases of estimate, labor estimates, staffing plans, capacity models, or proposal inputs
- Strong Excel modeling, presentation, and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of manufacturing flow, production scheduling, capacity, and how shop floor execution interfaces with supply chain and quality
- Ability to create Shop Operation Plans for production units and track daily shop floor performance
- Ability to create Recovery Schedules for the production floor
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands
- Ability to coordinate with larger teams at different site locations
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience working in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) phase of a program
- Experience working in a Production environment and on a Shop Floor
- Knowledge of SAP, MES, AutoCad, and FlexSim (or other discrete simulation programs) tools and concepts
- Ability to create and automate Industrial Engineering performance metrics
- Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, and Visio
