Job Summary
Define mechanical interface controls, release integration assembly drawings, and coordinate design solutions with other Flight Systems product teams. Develop the mechanical interface baseline and present product designs to customers. Perform mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure, or Aerospace and Defense programs using Siemens NX or similar CAD tools. Interpret requirements and communicate complex concepts clearly to stakeholders. This role sits within Northrop Grumman's Flight Systems Engineering and Integration team, where employees work on revolutionary systems impacting lives globally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Active Secret clearance at time of application with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
- Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
- Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Desired Qualifications
- Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
- Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
- Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
