Job Summary

Apply ASME standard processes to identify, design, and procure electrical and mechanical hardware for the Sentinel Program's Command Systems Hardware Design Integration team. Support integrated assembly design in accordance with decomposed requirements and architecture diagrams to facilitate critical design review campaigns. Assist in trade studies and Analysis of Alternatives, creating 3-dimensional models and product definition packages using Siemens NX tools. Operate within a multi-disciplinary environment to capture inputs from Systems, Software, Design, and Compliance engineers. This role supports the Defense Systems sector's revolutionary systems that impact people's lives globally.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
  • Minimum of 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
  • Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering - Scheduling tools and applications
  • Experience resolving issues and providing technical support
  • Capable of working under general supervision and in team environments

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience deriving hardware-level requirements from interface, compliance, and performance requirements
  • Experience designing and generating control drawings and assemblies of systems using commercially-sourced hardware components
  • Experience developing hardware design materials in support of program design reviews for review with team technical leads and program stakeholders
  • Experience conducting design reviews as the design author and briefing solution designs to program leadership and stakeholders for release into product baseline
  • Understanding of structural analysis concerns as applied to designing mechanical systems
  • Teamcenter CPLM experience
  • Experience using the electrical workbench within NX or similar CAD software for cable routing purposes
