Job Summary
Design, develop, document, test, and debug software/system applications while conducting multidisciplinary research on embedded systems for safety and mission-critical software. Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers to plan and utilize these systems, ensuring compliance with program standards and continuous integration tool chains. Lead a team of system software engineers in an Agile environment, managing system software architecture and requirements for GNC software. Perform functional management activities comprising up to 20% of your time, including assessing staffing needs, supporting recruitment, and approving offers. Work on the Sentinel program in Roy, UT, on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience software development experience
- Master's degree with 6 years of experience
- 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
- Experience with Agile principles to include Kanban, Scrum
- Experience in software development using languages such as C++, Python
- Experience with executing software development processes
- CAM certification or willingness to obtain within first 6 months
- Familiarization with DO178 and process that covers software development lifecycle
- Understanding of best practices required for the development of Safety Critical Software
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans
- U.S. Citizenship
- 9/80 schedule availability

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience leading Software Engineering teams
- At least 1-year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
- Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers
- Experience with MBSE, software design & requirement management
