Job Summary
Sensor Integration Engineer responsible for developing low-level sensor integration software for autonomous driving systems, implementing and debugging sensor drivers and communication protocols (TCP, UDP, RTS), and managing hardware/software integration, vehicle parametrization, and in-vehicle testing. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define high-level sensor requirements, contributes to software development processes, assists engineers with installation and integration of electronic equipment in vehicles, and ensures thorough documentation. Requires Embedded Linux experience (3+ years), proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Shell scripting, knowledge of LiDAR/Radar/Camera/GNSS, ROS, Docker/DevContainers, ISO 26262 or safe design approaches, and business-level English (German a plus). Fosters a proactive interest in autonomous driving technology; office located in Berlin with in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field of study
- Professional experience (at least 3 years) in Embedded Linux software development and proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Shell scripting
- Strong understanding of microprocessors, microcontrollers, and complex electrical system architectures
- Solid expertise in networking and communication systems, including infrastructure and network programming
- Knowledge of sensor basics (LiDAR, Radar, Camera, GNSS) and ideally experience with time synchronization (e.g., PTP/GPTP, latency, timestamps)
- Familiarity with ROS, Docker, and DevContainers
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Practical field-testing experience with complex systems (robotics, autonomous platforms) and knowledge of ISO 26262 or safe design approaches
- Business-level English; German is an advantage
