Job Summary
Manage, maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot servers for a mixed Windows 2019 and 2022 customer environment while monitoring performance, hardening systems, and reporting security and operational status. Plan and execute new hardware and software implementations, create technical instructions and policies, and manage vendor equipment lifecycle including firmware control and preventive maintenance. Recommend technology improvements to expand and upgrade the environment, implement complex Group Policy and Active Directory structures, and automate tasks using PowerShell. This role supports the ALTESS Windows team in a growing data-center setting requiring a DoD Secret Clearance and five years of Windows administration experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- CompTIA Security+
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification (i.e., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Server+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), RedHat, Palo, etc.)
- Experience in Computer Science or IT
- Minimum five years' experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or Engineer
- Three or more years' experience in automating assigned tasks utilizing powershell
- Minimum five years' experience installing, configuration, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications and websites (Internet Information Services (IIS)), Apache, etc.)
- Minimum five years' experience working in an environment with complex networking solutions
- Senior level fundamental knowledge in networking principles, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
- Minimum five years' experience managing enterprise level Active Directory Structures
- Minimum five years' experience creating and maintaining complex MS Group Policy implementations
- Minimum five years' experience creating, maintaining, following Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to be a team player
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience
