Senior Welding QC Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct welding quality control inspections and monitor all phases of design, procurement, construction, and handover for Welding activities. Prepare Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), review construction documents for compliance, and manage the implementation of Method Statements. Witness welder qualifications, approve WPS and PQR documents, and coordinate with third-party testing companies. Monitor measurement instruments, analyze test data, and maintain all quality records. Identify and resolve non-conformances, advise on corrective actions, and assist in periodic audits of subcontractors. Attend client verification inspections and coordinate the closeout of punch lists. Requires 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas projects with ADNOC exposure, ASNT Level II certification, and ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor credentials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering
- Master's Degree in Welding
- At least 15 years of experience in welding related activities within the Oil & Gas Project environment
- ADNOC experience
- Professional certification in welding engineering (IWE, CWE)
- ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT and PT
- Certified ISO 9001:2015 Internal auditor
- Certified 3.1 CSWIP
- Knowledgeable in Welding Process
- Knowledgeable in Welding Procedure Qualification in line with ASME SEC IX
- Knowledgeable in AWS D1.1
- Knowledgeable in API 1104
- Knowledgeable in ISO 13847
- Knowledgeable in SHELL DEP
- Knowledgeable in ADNOC specifications
- Familiar with Welding defect identification and root causes with control measures to prevent occurrence
- Hands on welding training for implementation contractor and vendor welding teams
- Well versed in monitoring of welding repair data and welder performance
- Shall be conversant with resolution of site welding issues including selection of welding consumable based on various material groupings
- Ability to optimize welding procedure qualification based on material standard and production thickness
- O&G Projects experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work both independently, exercising professional judgment and coordination skills
- Excellent organizational skills
