Job Summary
Senior Weight and Mass Properties Engineer responsibilities include developing and maintaining weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems, generating weight and balance reports, supporting mass properties processes and tools, providing visibility of mass properties information to integrated product teams, management and customers; defining complex weight/balance requirements; reviewing contract statements of work, estimating task durations, scheduling and leading task execution; gathering customer requirements and developing innovative mass properties analysis solutions; mentoring less experienced engineers and potentially leading a small team; onsite in San Antonio, TX or Oklahoma City, OK; requires ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim/final Secret) and U.S. Citizenship; relocation available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 9+ years of experience with weights and mass property engineering
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestic or internationally
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim/final Secret required)
- Experience in generating and approving technical documentation and reports related to mass properties
- Knowledge of Boeing commercial derivative aircraft or similar platforms (707, 737, 747, 757, 777, 787) is desirable
- Experience with FAA certification (14 CFR Part 25) and MIL-HDBK-516
- Trained and certified to weigh US DoD aircraft
- Trained and certified to use Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- U.S. Citizenship required for clearance
