Senior Wealth Advisor
$150,000–$200,000 year
On-siteLos Angeles, California, United States
Job Summary
Manage a high-volume portfolio of 100+ ultra-high-net-worth households, executing complex multi-generational wealth transfer, trust coordination, and tax-efficient portfolio construction strategies. Source, pitch, and close new client relationships while stewarding established accounts as part of a planned succession strategy for a $50 million AUM book. Maintain a polished, executive-level presence to serve high-profile families with discretion, collaborating with advisory teams during relationship handoffs. This role offers a strong base salary with performance-based compensation tied to AUM growth and new business, plus full benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) match. Equity participation and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates outside the LA area.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a financial advisor at an RIA, independent broker-dealer, or wirehouse
- demonstrated record of client acquisition and retention
- Proven 'hunter' track record — measurable history of sourcing, pitching, and closing new client relationships
- Experience advising ultra-high-net-worth clients ($10MM+ households) on complex planning needs: multi-generational wealth transfer, trust and estate coordination, concentrated stock positions, alternative investments, and tax-efficient portfolio construction
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of complex relationships (100+ households)
- A portable book of business of at least $50 million AUM
- transferable without undue regulatory or contractual restriction
- Active Series 65 (or equivalent combination of Series 7 & 66)
- Ability to pass a full background check, credit check, and reference verification consistent with SEC/FINRA and firm-level fiduciary standards
- No non-compete or non-solicit restrictions that would materially impede a book transition (or a clear legal path to navigate existing restrictions)
- Polished, executive-level presence suited to serving high-profile, high-net-worth, and multi-generational families
- Strong discretion and judgment in handling sensitive financial and personal information
- Collaborative team orientation — comfortable working alongside existing advisory teams, para-planners, and client service staff during a relationship handoff
- Entrepreneurial mindset balanced with fiduciary discipline
- comfortable operating in a growth-oriented, performance-driven environment
- W-2 employment structure
- Relocation assistance available for candidates outside the LA area
Desired Qualifications
- additional licensing (Series 63, insurance lines)
- CFP®, CFA, CPA, or other relevant advanced designation
- Ability to document client relationships and articulate a credible transition/retention plan
