Job Summary
Lead larger, more complex, and strategically important relationships involving multi-generational, business-owner, and executive clients within Croghan Colonial Bank's Wealth Management and Trust Department. Serve as the senior relationship presence for high-risk, fiduciary-sensitive matters requiring advanced judgment on estate planning, tax-aware coordination, and portfolio strategy. Develop relationship strategies across family members, trusts, and external advisors while originating new business and cultivating durable referral networks. Mentor Wealth Advisors and Associate Advisors through case consultation, technical coaching, and documentation guidance. Contribute to governance standards, risk management, and process improvements. This planning-oriented role operates within a bank trust environment, not as a broker-dealer producer, and accepts candidates with 8–10 years of progressive experience in wealth management, fiduciary services, or related disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, financial planning, law, taxation, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
- Eight to ten or more years of progressive experience in wealth management, RIA advisory work, financial planning, tax planning, estate planning, trust administration, fiduciary services, investment management, private banking, law, accounting, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated success independently managing complex client relationships and making high-quality decisions under fiduciary, planning, investment, service, documentation, regulatory, and reputational constraints
- Advanced technical competence across multiple wealth-management disciplines and the judgment to recognize when specialist, legal, tax, compliance, committee, or executive involvement is required
- Demonstrated ability to develop business, cultivate referral sources, lead major prospect opportunities, mentor others, influence without relying solely on title, and raise the quality of team decision-making
Desired Qualifications
- CFP and/or CPA strongly preferred for senior candidates
- JD, CTFA, CPWA, CIMA, CFA, AEP, or comparable role-relevant credentials are also highly valued depending on the candidate's experience and assigned responsibilities
- Advanced planning-oriented professional with strong client relationship instincts and credible technical judgment
- Particularly attractive backgrounds include CFP, CPA, JD, CTFA, CPWA, CIMA, CFA, advanced planning, tax, estate planning, RIA lead advisor, family office, private wealth, or senior fiduciary advisory experience
- Able to lead business development in a relationship-based, fiduciary, planning-oriented manner rather than through transactional sales tactics
- Credible with attorneys, CPAs, business owners, executives, multi-generational families, bankers, and community leaders
- Willing to mentor others, share expertise, build team standards, and help institutionalize client relationships
