Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

Job Summary

Provide subject matter technical support and leadership for water and wastewater projects, including treatment plants, distribution systems, and pumping stations in public and private sectors. Perform research, planning, concept development, and design of infrastructure, creating construction documents, specifications, and overseeing construction administration. Guide junior engineers to ensure responsibilities meet industry standards for design, safety, and functionality while planning, organizing, and supervising engineering activities with budget, deliverable, and schedule management. Represent projects at meetings and conferences, develop relationships with owners, contractors, and sub-consultants, and participate in client development activities. Maintain the firm's reputation for technical excellence and assist in managing the water and wastewater group's growth. Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline
  • prior water/wastewater design experience
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio
  • Highly proficient with water/wastewater design engineering principles, practices, processes, and their applications to project related issues
  • Extensive experience in water treatment plant, water pumping and distribution systems, wastewater treatment plant, or wastewater collection and pumping systems, planning, design, and program/construction management
  • project involvement in upgrades, rehabilitation/reconstruction, new design, and construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of relevant water or wastewater codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules
  • able to prioritize responsibilities
  • quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Occasional travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters Degree
  • multi-state Professional Engineer license
