Senior Water Resources Hydrogeologist/Engineer

Job Summary
Lead technical oversight of water resources projects from planning through completion, including hydrogeologic conceptual modeling, water supply assessments, and groundwater well design. Develop project strategies and manage budgets, schedules, and subconsultant coordination while ensuring quality assurance on deliverables. Build and grow client relationships across Texas, Colorado, and California, preparing proposals and acting as a trusted advisor. Mentor junior staff in technical and business development skills, potentially supervising a team in Texas. Requires 8+ years of hydrogeology experience, a PE or PG license, and ability to travel 25% of the time for site visits. Based in Houston or Austin, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a hydrogeologist or engineer for water resources projects
- Demonstrated experience in business development, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, contract execution, and generating repeat business
- Demonstrated project management experience, including budget management, scheduling, and responsive client communication
- Excellent client management skills with a proven ability to maintain and grow long-term client relationships
- Active Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure in Texas through reciprocity
- Technical knowledge in numerical groundwater modeling (e.g., MODFLOW), water resources planning, groundwater availability investigations, data management and visualization, ArcGIS, and technical writing
- Knowledge of and experience with Texas groundwater regulations, water data sources, groundwater availability models, and regional water planning processes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, work independently, and collaborate with various project teams
- Demonstrated time management skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workload and frequent short deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to work while remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Must be able to communicate and exchange information with others in person, on calls, and in virtual meetings
- Must be based in Houston, Texas or Austin, Texas
- Must be able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight for client meetings and site visits up to 25% of the time
- Must have a current valid driver's license
