Senior Wastewater Modeller

Job Summary
Lead technical delivery for wastewater modelling projects, managing outputs from small to medium scale while effectively delegating tasks and mentoring junior staff. Execute Health & Safety Risk Assessments, coordinate field teams, and perform model build and verification. Drive optioneering of design solutions, produce technical reports, and manage progress reporting alongside client liaison and business development activities. Operate within financial and programme constraints, developing technical specifications and scopes of works. This role supports the SR27 Enterprise programme for Scottish Water, requiring experience with Infoworks ICM, Python, and multi-disciplinary team leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using Infoworks ICM
- Understand and work within financial and programme constraints of a project
- Ability to develop technical specifications and scopes of works for projects
- Experience of technically reviewing projects, providing design and optioneering input, and in preparation of proposals
- Experience running a specific team of project engineers and technicians
- Experience liaising with government departments, local authorities, water and utility companies, SEPA and other public bodies
- A proven track record developing client relationships and securing repeat business work
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or have proven track record/experience of delivering modelling projects
- Be self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and take ownership of workload
- Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients
- Experience with coding languages such Ruby or Python
- You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment
- all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
