Job Summary
Senior Manager Logistics provides leadership for the Distribution Center and supervisors, who are directly responsible for turnkey warehousing and transportation solutions. The incumbent will have and maintain high level interface directly with the customer on a regular basis. Develop strategic operational planning and execution for the operation, identify and solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results. Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain a positive employee relations environment at assigned account(s). Maintain open and effective communications within the work group(s) and with other work groups within the organization. Review data, identify and implement necessary actions as required. May manage the profit and loss statements based on the complexity and scope of the organization. Lead a proactive safety program within the work group(s) consistent with company policy to provide a safe and secure work environment. Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes. Monitor the maintenance of equipment for assigned work group(s) by using checklists and observations as required. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned. Skills emphasized include excellent problem-solving, communication (oral and written), leadership, relationship-building, independent work ethic, teamwork, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, organization, analytical capabilities, and potential P&L management. The role requires a strong focus on building an inclusive and engaged work environment and may include P&L responsibilities depending on scope. This position is based in Opa Locka, FL and is full-time, exempt with salary between $106,000 and $116,000 plus annual incentive potential.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. diploma/GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
- Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field required
- Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required
- Three (3) years or more Profit & Loss responsibility preferred
- One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred
