Job Summary
Receive, count, and record shipment data into the system while matching packing lists to actual merchandise. Prepare packages for storage, pack and unpack stock items, and mark goods using identification tags or electronic tools. Identify incorrect or short shipments, notify supervisors immediately, and deliver products to designated areas. Operate forklifts or other machinery as needed, verify computations against physical counts, and inspect stock for wear or defects. Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety policies. Requires operation of a company or personal vehicle more than 20% of the week. Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
- Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment
- Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes
- Ability to make repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squat
- If selected for this position, some Core & Main branches will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.
Desired Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred
- Specialized skills training/certification may be required
- Generally, 5+ years of experience in area of responsibility
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Computer experience
- Time management and organization skills
- Ability to understand written material and basic math skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with others in a group, cooperate with others, offer to help when needed, and foster a team climate within the group where members are committed to a common goal
