Job Summary
Lead leasing professionals across a national platform in 25 states by developing asset-specific strategies for stabilized, value-add, and opportunistic retail assets to drive NOI. Recruit, mentor, and directly manage the internal leasing team while selecting and contracting third-party brokerage teams to execute anchor, junior anchor, and inline leases. Oversee complex retail lease negotiations, validate market assumptions during due diligence, and analyze lease economics using Excel to present financial analyses to the Investment team. Partner with Asset Management to align leasing activity with property business plans and report directly to the EVP of Real Estate Operations and Strategy. This in-person role in Chicago requires 8–12+ years of sophisticated commercial real estate leasing experience, with a salary range of $225,000–$325,000 plus bonus.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of sophisticated commercial real estate leasing experience
- strict focus on retail assets (strip centers, power centers, lifestyle centers, or urban retail)
- Proven history of closing deals with major national and regional retail tenants
- deep understanding of current retail market trends and experiential retail shifts
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for underwriting lease economics and calculating financial returns and deal metrics
- Expert understanding of retail lease language, legal structures, and the financial impact of restrictive covenants
- Must be passionate about managing and developing a high performing team

Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a PE firm, REIT, or top-tier institutional developer
- Bachelor's degree in real estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini) to enhance personal productivity, streamline research, and assist with content creation or workflow automation
